What is the working principle of the PSG Series Cone Crusher?

The PSG series cone crusher operates on the principle of laminated crushing. The electric motor drives the eccentric sleeve to rotate through a belt drive and coupling. This rotation causes the main shaft to oscillate, moving the crushing cone closer to or farther away from the fixed cone in a periodic motion.

When the crushing cone approaches the fixed cone, the gap between them narrows. The material entering the crushing chamber is subjected to multiple forces including compression, bending, and shearing. Due to the laminated crushing design, the material is not only crushed by the cone surfaces but also by pressure between the material particles themselves. This significantly improves crushing efficiency and produces more uniform particle shapes.

When the crushing cone moves away from the fixed cone, the gap widens. The crushed material that meets the size requirement then falls downward by gravity. This cycle of crushing and discharging repeats continuously as the motor keeps running. Each complete oscillation of the cone completes one crushing cycle.

The PSG series also features a hydraulic system for easy adjustment of the discharge opening, allowing operators to control the final product size precisely. The capacity of the PSG series cone crusher varies depending on the model, cavity type (coarse, medium, fine), and feed conditions, typically ranging from 45 tons/hour to 700 tons/hour.

The PSG series cone crusher adjusts the discharge opening by rotating the adjustment ring using a hydraulic system, thereby raising or lowering the fixed cone. After adjustment, the adjustment ring is locked with nuts and lock washers to prevent loosening due to vibration during operation.

1. Monitor oil level, oil quality, and oil temperature: Maintain the oil level within the specified range, keep the oil clean (lubricating oil NAS grade ≤ 8), and control the oil temperature between 35-55℃ (stop the machine immediately if the temperature exceeds 70℃). 2. Ensure sufficient air pressure in the positive pressure air system (0.02-0.05 MPa) to prevent dust contamination. 3. Use appropriate lubricants, such as ISO VG46/68 lubricating oil for the lubrication system and molybdenum disulfide lithium-based grease for the bearings. 4. Regularly check the oil pump, filter, and hoses for leaks or blockages, and replace aging hoses every 1-2 years.

The liners should be replaced when the crushing wall and concave liner wear exceeds 30% of their original thickness or when cracks appear. Before replacement, clean the burrs on the cone surface, remove rust from the new liners, and tighten the bolts to the specified torque. After installation, recalibrate the discharge opening gap to ensure crushing efficiency. The service life varies depending on the material hardness and feed rate, usually 3 to 12 months.

Common reasons include uneven wear of the liners (especially at the lower crushing wall and feed opening), loose discharge opening adjustment, or oversized feed particle size (exceeding equipment limits). Solution: Replace severely worn liners, recalibrate the gap and relock the adjustment ring, and install a pre-screening device to control the feed particle size within 80% of the maximum allowable feed size

1. Immediately stop the machine, use a hydraulic lifting device to lift the main shaft, and manually remove foreign objects (such as iron blocks) from the crushing chamber (do not force start). 2. Disassemble the main shaft bushing, remove the deteriorated grease, and refill with high-temperature extreme-pressure grease, ensuring that the lubrication channels are unobstructed. 3. Check the safety spring assembly, replace damaged or failed springs, and adjust the compression amount to 20-30mm (as specified).
